General Info

We handle a wide range of household laundry, including everyday garments, linens, towels, and more. We do not wash or handle industrial workwear (your stinky socks are fine but please take your oily coveralls to a laundromat suited for those items). All items must have been washed at least once before and should be compatible with standard wash cycles. Please contact us if you have any questions about specific items.

Absolutely! When you sign up for the Total Service package, you’ll have access to a private online account where you can select your preferred detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheet scent. You can also specify your preferred wash and dry settings to ensure your clothes are cared for exactly as you like.

Please be aware that our product selection is quite limited throughout our first soft launch phase. We will have our product selection narrowed down and available by our second phase in January 2025.

We use Tide+ Ultra Oxi for our standard detergent, we use Downy fabric softener when requested, and we use Fleecy Aromatherapy dryer sheets unless asked not to. 

By the end of our first soft launch phase, in late December 2024, we will have expanded and finalized our product options for the next phase of services.

For the best results, we recommend the following steps:

  • Treat any stains as soon as possible by rinsing with cold water (immediately after they occur if possible)
  • Ensure all solid residues or debris are removed from the garments
  • If an item has been soiled with bodily fluids or other biological materials, place it in a sealed plastic bag and inform us on your weekly preferences form
  • Remove all items from pockets to avoid damage to the laundry or machine
  • If you’re unsure about how to prepare a specific item, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!

We actually provide perfectly sized laundry bins for your use throughout your service package! Each bin contains exactly one load of laundry, as long as the lid can be properly secured.

After you book your service, your laundry bins will be dropped off during either our morning or evening laundry run, on the day before your first laundry pickup. We’ll sanitize the bins after each load of dirty laundry comes out, and before your clean laundry goes back in. You’ll use the same two bins throughout your service package; we’ll collect them the day after your final laundry delivery.

During our soft launch, we are focusing on our standard laundry products to streamline our operations. We recommend that only customers comfortable with our standard selection participate at this time. As we grow, we’re working to add hypoallergenic and baby-safe options to better serve those with specific needs.

Service Packages

The Total Service package provides four weeks of weekly laundry service, where we pick up one or two bins of laundry from your location each week. This service includes washing, drying, and folding all items according to your preferences, and we return the laundry to your doorstep approximately 48 hours after pickup.

The Total Service package includes a total of four or eight loads of laundry*, depending on whether you select the one-bin or two-bin weekly option. Each bin holds approximately one standard load of laundry, which makes it easy to plan based on your laundry needs each week.

*Our Soft Launch Total Service package will be our eight load package, heavily discounted, PLUS an additional 4 loads for free, for a total of 12 loads of laundry. This offer is limited to our first 20 customers only.

As you book your Total Service package, you’ll choose a set “Laundry Day” for weekly pickups. You can choose a morning or evening time slot. Our driver will arrive at your specified location during whichever time slot you choose. You’ll receive reminders before each pickup, so you can have your laundry bin(s) ready for collection. Approximately 48 hours after your pickup (during the same 90 minute window of time as your pickup), our driver will return your clean folded laundry to the same location we picked up from. 

To keep our pricing as low as possible, we do not currently offer rush services. However, we are actively working toward providing expedited options after our official launch in the spring of 2025. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime.

Soft Launch

Our soft launch is a preliminary rollout of our laundry services to a smaller group of customers. This phase allows us to refine our operations based on real-time feedback, ensuring a seamless experience by the time we officially launch to a wider audience.

Of course! As a show of deep gratitude for our very first customers, we’re offering exclusive discounts on all services started during the three phases of our soft launch. This includes reduced rates on all service packages, as well as add-on services as they become available. It’s our way of saying thank you for helping us perfect our services.

Our core service packages will become available one at a time between November 2024 and February 2025. Any upcoming add-on services may continue to have limited availability as we finalize logistics. We will keep you informed about which services are available each week on our Updates page and prioritize requests to the best of our ability.

Official Launch

Our official launch is scheduled for March 2025. This is when we’ll fully open our service calendars to the public, with all service packages and add-on services available to all customers in Leduc and the surrounding areas.

Yes! To celebrate our launch, we’ll offer special promotions on service packages and discounts on add-on services for a limited time. Keep an eye on our Updates page to be the first to know about these exciting deals.

We will initially serve the Leduc area, with plans to expand into Edmonton and all smaller surrounding cities throughout 2025. If you’re outside our initial service area, stay tuned for updates—we’re working hard to bring our services to more communities soon! Share your postal code on the Home page so we know to focus on your area ASAP.

Donations Program

Absolutely! As much as we rely on our customers for their generous donations, we rely even more on our incredible volunteers! We’re always in need of more help with getting our inventory of donated items washed, folded, and delivered wherever they’re needed most. Please send us a message via the Contact form below if you’d like to join our amazing team of volunteers.

Although we only have the capacity to accept general household textile donations from our service package customers, we are always looking for the items that we cannot distribute second hand. Please reach out via the Contact form below for a short list of specific brand new personal items that we would be immensely grateful to receive.

Currently, we accept the same kinds of things for donations as we accept for our laundry services. Please ensure all items are in wearable condition. We may also be able to accept some larger items on a case-by-case basis, please reach out via the Contact form below to inquire about details.

When you fill out your weekly Preferences form letting us know your wash, heat, and scent settings, there is an option to indicate you have items to donate this week. Place your donations in a clear or blue see-through bag and clearly label the bag as DONATIONS. We can either grab it when we pick up your laundry bins or when we return your clean laundry.

We rely solely on volunteers to ensure our donations are ready for wherever they’ll be going. The cleaner and more organized your donations are, the easier it is for our volunteer team to get them where they belong ASAP. Please ensure there are no heavily stained items or damaged items as we are unable to invest enough time into preparing them for distribution.

No! Definitely not! Our donations program is 100% optional. Its biggest purpose is to lighten your load if overwhelming piles of laundry are something you struggle with. The good will that we get to share with our community is a lovely coincidence, but we will never expect or pressure you to donate a single thing.

Pricing

It’s easy to assume that if we’re charging $__.__ per load, that entire amount goes into our pocket—but that’s far from the truth. Our pricing covers far more than just the time spent washing and folding. It includes:

  • Pickup and delivery costs, including gas and vehicle maintenance allowances
  • High-quality laundry products, like top-rated detergents and fabric softeners
  • Utilities, such as water, electricity, and machine maintenance
  • Team compensation, as our service is run by a team of dedicated parents providing top-notch care for your laundry

When you choose Laundry by Laura, you’re not just paying for clean clothes—you’re investing in more spare time and peace of mind, while we handle all the costs, logistics, and hassle.

We price our services by the load, so whether it’s a small load or a full bin, the service rate remains the same. To get the most value, we encourage filling the bin to capacity (but please don’t over stuff as the quality of your wash will be negatively affected; make sure the lid can be secured easily and that the total laundry does not exceed 12 pounds).

We don’t just wash your clothes; we provide a total-service experience. From personalized care for your items to doorstep pickup and delivery, we take the stress out of laundry entirely. With premium detergents, meticulous folding, and optional add-ons like deodorizing and ironing (not yet available, but soon!), your clothes will be in the best hands possible.
