Our In-House Donations Program
Maybe your kid hit a growth spurt, maybe you’re not the same size you used to be either, maybe you just have a whole new style. Whatever the case, it’s easy to end up with way too many clothes.
At Laundry by Laura, we’re committed to helping you get to a manageable point, one you can maintain without the use of our services forever. We figure the best way you can do less laundry is to have less laundry. Our solution not only solves your problem, but also provides invaluable resources for countless vulnerable members of your community.
With every service package, for no extra cost, we will also collect bags of gently used clothing and other household textiles you’d like us to distribute absolutely free of charge to a variety of facilities and families where they’ll be greatly appreciated.
Seniors in Long Term Care Centers
Many seniors living in nursing homes or other assisted living facilities don't have the means to go shopping for themselves anymore, or anyone dropping them off necessities. These folks have been community members for too long to be forgotten.
The wonderful seniors we visit appreciate your gently used clothing and footwear, as well as books of all genres.
Children & Youth in the Foster Care System
Children placed into emergency care or otherwise moved around abruptly often show up to their new home with next to nothing. These children and those who care for them need everything from bedding to snowsuits and anything in between.
*Some larger items for babies and children may be accepted depending upon need and storage availability.
Adults in Detox and Treatment Centers
Unfortunately, when some of us have to start over as adults, we have to start from scratch completely. When we find ourselves back at square one for whatever reason, a new-to-me sweatshirt without a single hole in the cuff might be the biggest upgrade in a while.
Although we prioritize children and teenagers, anything not suited for or desired by them is brought out to local seniors and then lastly to any adults who could use some extra support.

Absolutely! As much as we rely on our customers for their generous donations, we rely even more on our incredible volunteers! We’re always in need of more help with getting our inventory of donated items washed, folded, and delivered wherever they’re needed most. Please send us a message via the Contact form below if you’d like to join our amazing team of volunteers.
Although we only have the capacity to accept general household textile donations from our service package customers, we are always looking for the items that we cannot distribute second hand. Please reach out via the Contact form below for a short list of specific brand new personal items that we would be immensely grateful to receive.
Currently, we accept the same kinds of things for donations as we accept for our laundry services. Please ensure all items are in wearable condition. We may also be able to accept some larger items on a case-by-case basis, please reach out via the Contact form below to inquire about details.
When you fill out your weekly Preferences form letting us know your wash, heat, and scent settings, there is an option to indicate you have items to donate this week. Place your donations in a clear or blue see-through bag and clearly label the bag as DONATIONS. We can either grab it when we pick up your laundry bins or when we return your clean laundry.
We rely solely on volunteers to ensure our donations are ready for wherever they’ll be going. The cleaner and more organized your donations are, the easier it is for our volunteer team to get them where they belong ASAP. Please ensure there are no heavily stained items or damaged items as we are unable to invest enough time into preparing them for distribution.
